This past holiday season I had a life-changing experience when I saw the documentary ‘Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead’ http://www.fatsickandnearlydead.com/. I watched it a couple of times in the space of a few days and it really resonated for me, not with respect to dieting/losing weight – but for the general health benefits associated with drinking fresh juice, and in particular veggie juice. In fact, I was so taken with it that I withdrew my request to Santa (aka dear husband) for a silver Tiffany’s necklace, and replaced it with a request for a Breville Juicer….now that’s a serious trade!
We’ve since been drinking juice almost every morning at breakfast and before dinner each day, not as a meal replacement I might add…but in addition to. I can honestly say we’ve realized the health benefits in our general level of energy, along with a desire to eat a more veggie based diet.
Given the above….you can imagine how hyped I was to discover yesterday that the creator and star of the documentary that set us on a better dietary path, Joe Cross, was in town for his book signing. I usually find out about these things after the fact, so on learning this and with an opportunity to see Joe up close and personal, I did just that… and he was even more inspiring in person! Oh happy day – juice on!
